Broad Band Light (aka photofacial)
Say good bye to pesky broken capillaries on the face and aging brown spots on the hands. Even freckles gently exfoliate away with this procedure.
BBL BroadBand Light technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent phototherapy results. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, the physician will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas coagulates tissue to variable depth. This process helps restore the skin to its natural state. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.
Groundbreaking Study on BBL from Stanford University:
Rejuvenation of Gene Expression Pattern of Aged Human Skin by Broadband Light Treatment: A Pilot Study
First study to demonstrate BBL treatments can restore gene expression pattern of aged human skin to resemble young skin.
Over 1,000 gene expressions became "rejuvenated" to be more like youthful skin resulting in decreased elastosis and more uniform collagen deposition; leading to improvements in fine wrinkles and pigmentation.
