Telemedicine or Teledermatology
allows for safe and comfortable evaluation of breakouts, rashes, chronic medication refills and both medical and cosmetic discussions from the safety of your home. While south Florida is experiencing an all time high in COVID infectivity rates, we encourage the use of telemedicine whenever possible.
There are 2 ways to use telemedicine in dermatology.
1. Syncronous telemedicine involves a planned Zoom, Google hangout or Facetime call to evaluate your concern. It is much like an in office visit. Due to some limitations in technology, we request clear images beforehand to ensure telemedicine is both possible and a proper fit for your condition. These visits aare available throughout the work week.
2. An asynchronous visit or an online consult can be started from the little icon on the bottom right corner. Through a 3rd party telemedicine company, we can evaluate photos and brief issues provided and get back to you within 24-48 hours, even on the weekend. This is offered at a flat rate and is currently not available to be processed through your insurance by our office. Do not use this option if you are concerned for a skin cancer or feel you have an emergency.
