Simple Wound Care (Clean Wounds Only)

 

First 24 hrs: Keep bandage clean, dry, in place.

 

After 24 hrs (choose one):

Standard Bandaid:   Clean with soap/water → dry → thin Vaseline/Aquaphor → Band-Aid or gauze
Repeat twice daily; shower normally, then reapply

 

 Hydrocolloid Band-aid:  Apply to clean, dry skin → leave up to 5 days → replace if loose/soiled
Continue until healed (≈2–3 weeks)

General Care: Avoid soaking, friction, and sun

Call office if you have any questions or notice increasing redness, swelling, pain, pus, odor, bleeding >20 min, or fever
